Frequently asked questions
The things people ask most about the app, their data and the services.
Basics
Is Faar really free?
Yes, the app is 100% free to download and use. No subscriptions, no trial periods, no locked features. The only thing you pay for is the QFaar sticker, which has real printing and service costs behind it.
Do I need an account?
You do, because your vehicle records are tied to it. You can sign in with email, Google or Apple.
Does Faar work for motorcycles?
It does. Cars and motorcycles are handled the same way — profile, fuel, documents and reminders.
How many vehicles can I keep?
As many as you like. We do not charge per vehicle, so a family garage of three works exactly like one.
Your vehicle and your data
How does the app know my vehicle details?
You enter the registration plate and the technical details are pulled in — make, model, year, engine power. Nothing to copy off your registration document.
What if my vehicle is not recognised?
You can enter the details by hand. Automatic lookup covers vehicles registered in Croatia; every other feature works the same without it.
What happens when I change phones?
Nothing is lost. Sign in with the same account on the new device and your whole vehicle history is waiting.
Who can see my vehicle data?
Only you and anyone you have given access to. The records are tied to your account; we do not sell them or turn them into the product.
Can I delete my account and all my data?
You can, from the app itself. For data and GDPR questions write to gdpr@faar.app.
Reminders and documents
Will the app remind me about registration?
It will, early enough to book an appointment rather than on the day it expires. The same goes for the roadworthiness test and your insurance policy.
Does Faar replace my registration document?
No. You still need to carry your documents when driving. Faar keeps the details and the reminders, but it is not an official document.
Can I keep a service history in the app?
You can, and past work can be entered with its real date and mileage. A clean maintenance record is worth something when you sell.
The QFaar sticker
What is the QFaar sticker?
A QR sticker for your windscreen. Whoever scans it can tell you that you have blocked someone in or left your lights on, without ever seeing your number.
What does it cost?
The standard price is €9 for a year. There is an offer running where the same €9 covers two years, plus VAT. You order it through the app.
Why charge for it when the app is free?
The sticker is printed to survive sun, rain and car washes, and behind the code sits a service that has to work the moment someone scans it. We charge what keeps that standing.
Does the person scanning need the app?
No. A web page opens where they pick a message, with nothing to install.
What is a vehicle status?
A short note you put on your own vehicle that anyone scanning your sticker can see — “Back in 10 minutes” and the like. It carries a countdown of how much longer it holds, because you choose the duration, and it disappears on its own when it expires.
Can I get a sticker for free?
Through partner giveaways, yes. Who those partners are and when a giveaway starts is announced on our social channels.
Services and partners
Does Faar sell insurance?
Not directly. We work in partnership with Osiguraj.me, who you request a quote through. You take out the policy with the insurer; Faar is where you keep the record and the reminders.
Where are tyre changes available?
Šibenik, Split and Trogir, where Auto Antonio has branches. We are expanding across Croatia soon.
Which features are still in progress?
The vehicle marketplace, the garage directory, spare parts, damage reports and towing. The features page marks plainly what works today and what is still coming.
Support
How do I get in touch?
Fastest is the Feedback option in the app. You can also email support@faar.app — we reply as quickly as we can.
How do I suggest a feature?
Tell us. We watch what people ask for and where they get stuck, and that is the most important input into what we build next.
