The Faar application and the website https://faar.app are the copyrighted work and intellectual property of Marko Maljković. Faar is a personal project, not the product of a company.
The controller of personal data is Marko Maljković, who can be reached at gdpr@faar.app or by post at c/o Locastic d.o.o., Lovački put 7, 21000 Split, Croatia. Locastic d.o.o. is the development partner on the project and processes personal data solely on the controller's instructions, in the role of processor.
Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy describes how your personal data is collected, used, and shared when you visit or use our website faar.app. We are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
1. Data We Collect
When you use our website, we may collect various types of data, including:

- Automatically collected data: like IP address, browser type, language settings, date and time of access, and other technical data.

4. Partners and sharing at your request
We share data with the partners listed below only when you ask for their service yourself - for example when you book an appointment or request a quote. Until you do, a partner receives nothing about you: not your name, not your contact details, not your vehicle. We do not sell your data to them or share it for advertising, and only what the requested service actually needs is sent.
- AUTO ANTONIO d.o.o., Kralja Tomislava 108, 21220 Seget Vranjica, OIB 64641553504 - tyre fitting and tyre changes. Data is shared when you book a tyre change yourself, and what is shared is your name, the contact detail they need in order to confirm the appointment, and the vehicle details needed to choose tyres and arrange a time.
- SIGURAN KLIK d.o.o., Dračevac 3/D, 21000 Split, OIB 44798387732 - insurance agency services and vehicle insurance quotes. Data is shared when you ask for an insurance quote yourself, and what is shared is your name, the contact detail they need in order to send you the quote, and the vehicle details needed to calculate it.
Each partner then uses your data in its own name and is responsible for any further processing under its own privacy policy. This list will grow over time, and any change is reflected in the date at the bottom of this page.
5. Processors
Some work is done for us by outside companies that come into contact with your data along the way. Unlike the partners in the previous section, they decide nothing about it: they process it only on our instructions, only for the job they were engaged for, may not use it for their own purposes or pass it on further, and are bound to that by a data processing agreement.
- Locastic d.o.o., Lovački put 7, 21000 Split, OIB 05555436501 - development and maintenance of the app and the site, and technical support. They process access to data in the app, to the extent maintenance and fixing faults requires.
- PROCESOR ZASTUPANJE d.o.o., Sv. Martina 17, 21311 Podstrana, OIB 12966834419 - the vehicle tracking platform that Faar OBD and vehicle tracking run on. They process vehicle location and movement (position, routes, times, stops, speed), diagnostics read from the OBD port, and vehicle and device identifiers - the driver's name is not sent to them, so the data is tied to a vehicle and a device rather than to a named person. This applies only if you use Faar OBD or vehicle tracking; if you do not use that feature, nothing about you reaches this company.
6. Automated reading of documents
When you photograph a document in the app, we send the picture to Google's Gemini service, which reads the details off it and returns them to the app so you do not have to type them in. This happens only when you start the scan yourself. Nothing is sent in the background.
- driving licence: what is read is name, licence number, OIB, issue and expiry dates, issuing authority and categories.
- insurance policy: what is read is the insurer, the policy number and type, the premium, the cover period, and the vehicle's VIN and registration plate.
- fuel receipt: what is read is the station name, date, fuel type, quantity, unit price and total.
You see what was read before it is saved, and you can correct it. This is help with typing rather than a decision about you: nothing is decided automatically on the basis of it.
The reading happens on Google's Vertex AI service, on servers inside the European Union. The photo does not leave the European Economic Area.
That service is covered by Google Cloud's terms under which Google does not use what is sent to train or improve its models, and does not put it in front of human reviewers. The processing is governed by Google's data processing agreement, under which Google is the processor and we are the controller.
7. Data Security
We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. While we strive to protect your data, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

9. Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a site. This site uses no cookies that are necessary for it to work - the only ones we set are analytics cookies, and only after you have agreed to them. Until you choose “Accept”, no Google script is loaded and none of the cookies below exist.
If you do agree, the following cookies are set:
- _ga (Google Analytics) - tells visitors apart, so the count is of people rather than of visits. Retained for 2 years.
- _ga_MB5D0WB25C (Google Analytics) - keeps session state for the property it belongs to. Retained for 2 years.
Analytics is loaded by Google Analytics, on the faar.app domain only. On test environments it is not loaded even with consent, so their traffic stays out of the reports.
Your decision is remembered in your browser's local storage (the faar-consent item) rather than in a cookie, so it stays on your device and is sent to no one. You can change your mind at any time: choose Cookies in the footer of any page and the choice reopens. Declining is exactly as easy as accepting and does not affect how the site works. You can also clear cookies through your browser settings.
One measurement does not depend on this choice, precisely because it uses no cookies at all: when you open the link to download the app, we record on the server that a redirect to the app store happened, and whether it was an iOS device, an Android device or a desktop. Nothing is stored on your device in the process, and no identifier is recorded that could single you out or connect you to other visits - it is a count of how often the link was opened, not tracking.

We may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or due to legal requirements. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new version on our website. We recommend regularly checking this page to stay informed about our privacy practices.
