A tracking device is paired with a vehicle from the fleet and the location is read live — no calling a driver to ask where they are.
Live location
Readings come straight from the device at the moment you look. We do not keep a location history in Faar — what you see comes from the tracking system.
One device per vehicle
A device is assigned to a single fleet vehicle and stays there until you release it. No two vehicles can claim the same tracker.
Visible to the right people
Alongside the owner and company members, anyone the vehicle is shared with can see it. Location is not public, not even inside the company by default.
Assign and release
When a vehicle leaves the fleet or a device moves to another, release it and assign it where it is needed.
Not starting from scratch
Fleet tracking is built with partners who have been doing this for more than 15 years. Around 6,000 vehicles run through their systems today, so the edge cases — lost signal, a vehicle swap, a device moving between cars — have been solved by someone before us.
Faar is the interface over that infrastructure: vehicles and drivers in one place, with telemetry coming from a system that has been doing this for years.
Pairing a device
Pick a vehicle from the fleet.
Assign a tracking device to it.
Follow the location in the app, and release the device when the vehicle leaves the fleet.
