Who drives which vehicle, and since when
Several people can have access to a vehicle, but exactly one driver is responsible for it at any moment. When damage or a fine turns up, the answer is in the system.

Driver roster
A driver is its own record — add, edit or deactivate one when they leave. No user account required.
One responsible driver
An assignment is a record of responsibility: one active vehicle per driver and one active driver per vehicle. The system will not allow two overlapping assignments, so who answered for a vehicle on a given date is never in question.
Access is wider than assignment
The owner, company members and anyone the vehicle is shared with can all see it and record fuel, servicing and insurance against it.
Editing the vehicle is restricted
The vehicle's own details — plates and registration documents — are changed by the owner or a company member with fleet permissions. A driver does not change those, but keeps the records as normal.
Assignment history
Every assignment is kept with its dates. Who drove a vehicle last month is a lookup, not a question to ask around.
Licence expiry reminders
The system flags a driving licence before it expires, so nobody is driving on an expired document.
Assigning a vehicle
Add the driver to the roster.
Pick an available vehicle from the fleet.
Confirm — the previous assignment closes automatically and stays in the history.
